Quantity Surveyor - Aviation Infrastructure

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in or passion for aviation infrastructure projects? Join a leading consultancy in Maidstone and play a key role in the commercial success of diverse airport and runway schemes.

Our client is a respected consultancy seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their growing aviation team. You will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of multiple projects, primarily focused on airports and runway works. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive QS to apply their expertise in a dynamic and specialist sector, working closely with key stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing a full suite of quantity surveying duties, including cost planning, estimating, and value engineering for aviation projects.
  • Managing NEC contracts, ensuring contractual compliance and effective commercial administration.
  • Preparing tender documentation, evaluating submissions, and managing the procurement process.
  • Undertaking change management, including the assessment and negotiation of variations and claims.
  • Conducting interim valuations, cost reporting, and managing final accounts.
  • Liaising effectively with clients, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Managing the commercial aspects of several projects simultaneously, ensuring robust financial control.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, demonstrating a strong track record in commercial and contract management.
  • Experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects is essential; direct experience with airports, runways, or other aviation-related schemes would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in managing NEC forms of contract.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
