About the Role
Hill McGlynn is partnering with a reputable regional main contractor delivering a variety of construction projects throughout Kent and London. They are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team at the Maidstone office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse schemes, including residential, healthcare, care homes, retail, and fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the commercial team with cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Assisting in procurement, subcontractor management, and cost control.
  • Monitoring project costs and budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Preparing and reviewing contractual documentation and variations.
  • Attending site visits and collaborating with project managers, clients, and supply chain partners.
  • Supporting risk management and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and contractual obligations.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a main contractor environment.
  • Knowledge of residential, healthcare, retail, or fit-out sectors is desirable.
  • Good understanding of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to develop within a growing company.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline.
