Ready to take the lead on complex civils projects?

This is a solid opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a key commercial role on major infrastructure schemes. The work is hands-on and technically demanding involving deep groundwork, high-risk civils, and specialist packages that need clear thinking and tight commercial control.

We’re after someone confident with NEC contracts, who can manage costs from pre-construction through to final account. You’ll be across everything cost planning, change management, contract compliance, and commercial reporting, making sure projects hit the mark legally, financially, and in terms of quality.

You’ll be joining a well-established and respected contractor with a healthy pipeline of work. This is a role with proper visibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact, ideal for someone who knows how to take ownership and lead from the front.

YOUR NEW ROLE

  • Preparing detailed cost reports for both internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring they’re fully backed by contractual documentation
  • Submitting accurate valuations and payment applications, aligned with project progress and contract terms
  • Managing subcontractor packages end-to-end — from procurement and onboarding through to payment and final account agreement
  • Forecasting project costs and budgets, and maintaining accurate cash flow reports to support financial planning
  • Administering contract changes and variations, keeping all commercial registers up to date and contractually compliant
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and advising on mitigation strategies
  • Collaborating with site and project teams to ensure commercial practices align with project delivery goals
  • Using commercial systems and reporting tools effectively to track, analyse, and communicate project performance

ABOUT YOU

  • You will have at least five years of experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven track record on complex infrastructure or civil engineering projects, particularly those with technical or high-risk elements
  • Solid understanding of standard forms of contract, including IChemE
  • Strong commercial acumen, with excellent negotiation, cost control, and reporting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • You MUST be Comfortable working across multiple sites and with a proactive and organised approach to project delivery
