Senior Quantity Surveyor

GRS are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy commercial team supporting projects across the UK, in the MEICA / Water Industry.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional who enjoys working autonomously and driving financial performance across multiple projects. You will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle, from tender handover through to final account, while also providing leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial ownership of multiple projects, managing budgets from inception to completion

  • Lead on cashflow forecasting, cost/value reporting, and monthly payment applications/certifications

  • Negotiate and manage sub-contracts, including drafting and reviewing contract documents

  • Monitor project costs and encourage cost awareness across operations teams

  • Prepare accurate forecasts and detailed cost reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Represent the commercial function in meetings with clients, suppliers, and project partners

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, particularly NEC3/4 frameworks

  • Promote safe working practices and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery

  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff

About You

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar senior role

  • Strong track record in budget control, reporting, and forecasting

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Excellent communicator, confident presenting and reporting to all levels

  • Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to secure best value outcomes

  • Familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts is essential

  • Experience in the water, utilities, or MEICA sectors is an advantage but not a requirement
