The Opportunity:We are recruiting a skilled and motivated Flooring Fitter on behalf of our client-an established independent organisation providing accommodation services nationwide. Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader, this hands-on role involves carrying out both responsive and planned maintenance tasks across a portfolio of properties.

If you have a practical background in flooring, painting, decorating, or general maintenance, and you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, this could be the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:Working across both occupied and void (empty) properties, your duties will include but are not limited to:

Flooring Installation & Maintenance

  • Cleaning existing flooring and preparing surfaces (including levelling compounds)

  • Removing and repositioning furniture and doors as needed

  • Installing underlay and fitting flooring using various methods (grippers, adhesives, heat-sealing, etc.)

  • Installing a variety of materials including wood, laminate, and vinyl

  • Removing old flooring and ensuring proper disposal

Painting & Decorating

  • Preparing and cleaning surfaces (e.g., scraping, sanding, steam cleaning)

  • Removing old wallpaper and flaking paint

  • Repairing cracks and filling holes in walls and woodwork

  • Sanding and preparing surfaces for painting or redecorating

Other Responsibilities

  • Performing groundwork repairs as needed

  • Supporting the wider property services team

  • Carrying out additional duties as directed by the Head of Property Services

What We're Looking For:

  • Hands-on experience in flooring, decorating, or general property maintenance

  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, solution-oriented mindset

  • Ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - DVLA checks will be carried out

  • The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
