Behaviour Support Worker

Academics are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a Pupil Referral unit in Maidstone, supporting pupils with SEN. This setting works with young people who have faced barriers to education, often due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.



The Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a vital role in re-engaging pupils with their education and supporting them to manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.

  • Implementing tailored behaviour management strategies.

  • Helping pupils develop coping mechanisms and positive communication skills.

  • Supporting learning in core subjects, ensuring students feel motivated and confident.

  • Building trusting, supportive relationships to encourage attendance and participation.

  • Working closely with teaching staff, mentors, and pastoral teams to promote positive outcomes.
