Are you ready to dive into a dynamic role in manufacturing? Our client, a leading player in the industry, is on the lookout for enthusiastic General Assembly Operatives to join their team in Maldon. If you enjoy working with your hands and have a knack for assembling components, this is the opportunity for you!

About the Role:
As a General Assembly Operative, you will be at the heart of our production process. Your primary responsibility will be to assemble components and products while adhering to detailed work instructions and quality standards. You'll be using a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform mechanical, electrical, or structural assembly tasks efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts and subassemblies by following precise work instructions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools (such as drills, screwdrivers, riveters, and torque wrenches) with confidence.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and secure components to meet exact tolerances and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical fastening, drilling, grinding, and fitting operations as required.
  • Conduct visual inspections and basic quality checks on completed assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation, complying with all health and safety procedures.
  • Report any defects, equipment malfunctions, or material shortages to supervisors.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or fabrication.
  • Proficient in the safe use of power tools and hand tools.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical principles and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet production targets.

Work Conditions:

  • You will be working in a workshop or factory environment.
  • Expect to stand for prolonged periods
  • Expect to handle components weighing between 20-25 kg.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, safety footwear, and ear protection is required for specific tasks.
