Factory Operative - Temp to Perm - 16.30 per hour - 30 Hours per Week - Own Transport Essential

We are currently recruiting for a Factory Operative on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business located in the Essex countryside, between Maldon and Tolleshunt D'Arcy.

This is a temporary-to-permanent position: you will begin with an initial three-month period through Prime Appointments, with a view to becoming a permanent employee thereafter.

Role Details:

  • Hourly Rate: 16.30
  • Hours: 6:30 am - 12:30 pm, five days per week (fixed days, may include one weekend day)
  • Flexibility: Shift patterns may be subject to change
  • Location: Rural Essex - own transport is required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor production machinery safely and effectively
  • Perform visual quality checks on finished products
  • Accurately complete production and compliance documentation
  • Set up, adjust, and calibrate machinery as required
  • Handle raw materials and products, including manual handling and heavy lifting
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas
  • Operate pallet and pump trucks when necessary
  • Strictly follow all health and safety guidelines and site procedures

What We're Looking For in our Factory Operative:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and production environment preferred
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
  • Counterbalance forklift licence desirable but not essential
  • Own transport is essential due to remote location
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-focused
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work patterns
