Summary

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, we are seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to ensure the continuous running of equipment, machinery and facilities. The position of Maintenance Team Leader offers lots of variety, a chance to build your career and a fresh challenge in a niche industry.

The role will very much be part of the engine room. Due to the fast pace of the business, you will be required to work well under pressure, be robust in character, pragmatic, with pace and patience, and have a positive solutions-based approach.

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Team Leader:

  • Supervise and support the Maintenance Engineer and Apprentice in daily tasks.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on production equipment.
  • Prioritise and allocate maintenance tasks based on production needs and breakdown urgency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.
  • Liaise with production supervisors to ensure maintenance work is aligned with operational priorities.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in implementing maintenance schedules and improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Provide training and mentoring to the Apprentice, fostering skill development.
  • Identify recurring issues and suggest long-term solutions or improvements.
  • Administrative tasks as directed by the maintenance manager.
  • Point of contact for all maintenance activities in the absence of the maintenance manager.

Requirements to be successful as a Maintenance Team Leader:

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or above.
  • Maths and English GCSE (A-C).
  • Experience of industrial Machinery, ideally PLCs, CNC Machinery, Microelectronics, Automation systems.
  • Electrical Safety Supervision.
  • Machine tools and measurement devices.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Microsoft Office / Excel / Databases and spreadsheets (basic).
  • Fluent in the English language, with effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Results orientated with a numerical and analytical mindset.
  • Proactive and organised self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Good motivational and people managementskills.
  • Professional, responsible and confident decision maker with a good sense of what is right.
  • The role is based in English Braids Ltd, Malvern. Driving licence required, willingness to travel to other sites in the UK and suppliers in UK/Europe.
  • Able to do occasional overtime when required.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week.

Commutable from Bromyard, Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern, Pershore, Tewkesbury, Worcester.
