Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their Manchester team. You will play a pivotal role in securing new work, preparing accurate cost plans, and contributing to the continued success of a respected regional contractor. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of bids and estimates while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing cost estimates, tenders, and budgets across a range of projects.

  • Reviewing contract documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Building relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.

  • Analysing subcontractor quotations and preparing comparisons.

  • Working closely with the pre-construction and operations teams to develop winning bids.

  • Attending meetings with stakeholders to discuss project requirements and progress.

  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to the overall success of the estimating department.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within a main contractor environment.

  • Background working on a variety of projects including residential, commercial, or public sector schemes.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.

  • A team-focused attitude and the confidence to liaise at all levels.
