Financial Accountant

Our client, a global company, is on the lookout for a talented Financial Accountant to support their financial operations from their Stalybridge office. This is a newly created role due to growth.

What You'll Do:

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial reports.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing high-quality month-end close processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Compiling evidence for group and operational controls in preparation for reviews.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Collaborating with the Group Tax Department to prepare annual statutory accounts and tax compliance documentation.
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing necessary information.
  • Assisting with accounts payable and receivable and banking processes as needed.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across departments, including operations and sales.
  • Analysing financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally handling EMEA operations
  • Proven experience in month-end close processes, VAT returns preparation, and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Familiarity with internal and external auditing processes
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team player mentality, eager to support fellow team members.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
