Temporary Senior Finance Officer

Location: North Manchester - based on site 5 days per weekHours: 36 hours per weekPay Rate: £17-£25 per hour

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Officer for a temporary position within an educational setting in North Manchester. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial management and compliance with the educational setting Financial Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cashflow Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to ensure the College’s financial stability.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions, including effective cashflow management and maximizing investment opportunities.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Fixed Asset Register Maintenance: Maintain the College’s fixed asset register, providing guidance on safeguarding assets.
  • VAT Returns: Lead on VAT returns, ensuring compliance and maximizing VAT recovery.
  • Project Financial Management: Manage financial aspects of all projects, both revenue and capital, ensuring grant conditions are met and claims are submitted timely.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Relevant experience gained in the UK, ideally in an education or public sector setting.
  • Proven experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of treasury management and cashflow forecasting.
  • Experience with VAT returns and fixed asset management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

  • Must be available immediately as the role will start as soon as possible.
