Stock & Procurement Controller Middleton - 28,000 - 35,000 DOE - Full-time

Are you the kind of person who always knows where everything is - and how to get it cheaper and faster?

We're recruiting a Stock & Procurement Controller for a growing engineering business where no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of keeping materials flowing through the business - ensuring everything is ordered, stocked, tracked, and delivered on time.

This is a vital, wide-reaching role. You'll be working across stores, engineering, and manufacturing - and you'll be the go-to person for purchasing, inventory, and systems accuracy.

Why This Role?

  • Flexible start and finish times available - structure your working day around life

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Genuine opportunity to own and shape the procurement and stock control process

  • Supportive team - your ideas are valued and implemented

  • Stable, busy company in the engineering sector

  • Cycle-to-work scheme and free on-site parking

  • A varied, hands-on role with a lot of autonomy

  • No micromanagement - just the tools and support you need

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sourcing and ordering parts and materials for engineering and electrical projects

  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms

  • Monitoring stock levels, raising purchase orders, and updating the stock control system (bespoke system)

  • Adding new items to the database and keeping records accurate

  • Liaising with stores and production to solve part shortages or picking errors

  • Improving stock control processes and system usage

  • Keeping the store function running efficiently with minimal disruption

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in procurement and stock control

  • Strong IT skills - stock systems, spreadsheets, and general system navigation are second nature to you

  • Excellent communication skills - you'll be dealing with suppliers and internal teams

  • A proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues

  • Someone who enjoys bringing order, structure, and efficiency to busy environments
