What you'll do:
As an Assistant Accountant, you will become an integral member of a dedicated finance team focused on delivering excellence in every aspect of their work.
- Support the continuous improvement of month-end processes by collaborating with colleagues to identify efficiencies and implement best practices across the finance function.
- Assist with the reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards on a regular basis, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
- Manage daily order-to-cash reconciliations across multiple payment gateways, maintaining up-to-date records and supporting the integrity of financial data.
- Process invoices efficiently while overseeing purchase order reconciliations to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Undertake monthly ad-hoc tasks related to management accounts preparation, contributing to the production of reliable financial reports.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in supplier relationship management by communicating effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Provide support with tax returns by gathering necessary documentation and assisting with compliance requirements.
- Carry out administrative tasks associated with monthly payroll processes, helping ensure employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by senior members of the finance team or other departments within the business.
- Assist during the annual financial audit by preparing schedules, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring all requested information is available.
What you bring:
To excel as an Accounts Assistant in this role, you will bring proven experience gained from at least two years within a busy finance department. Your background should include exposure to key accounting functions such as reconciliations, invoice processing, payroll administration, tax compliance support, and audit preparation. An AAT qualification-or active progress towards one-will demonstrate your dedication to advancing your expertise in accountancy.
