What You'll Be Doing

  • Committee Coordination: Lead the servicing of a monthly advisory committee, preparing agendas, minutes, and documentation for decision-making on church buildings and churchyards.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the first point of contact for parishes, clergy, architects, and statutory bodies seeking guidance on property changes and compliance.

  • Legal & Planning Oversight: Support the faculty process (the Church's internal planning system), ensuring proposals meet legal and heritage standards.

  • Training & Systems Support: Help clergy and volunteers navigate digital systems and regulatory frameworks.

  • Site Visits & Reporting: Coordinate inspections and visitations across the diocese, supporting the care and development of historic and modern buildings.

Profile



What We're Looking For

  • EA, governance, or legal support experience - ideally in planning, property, or heritage sectors.

  • Legal qualification or experience in a legal environment.

  • Strong committee servicing and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and digital fluency.

  • Interest in historic buildings and alignment with the values of the Church of England.
