About the role

  • You’ll oversee a small team of people, providing guidance and support on projects and day to day work for this plastics/polymer business.
  • You’ll lead and support lab trials for customers, setting up all lab equipment and ensuring accurate testing and analysis
  • All related reports and findings to be documented and Prepare details reports and communicate findings clearly.
  • Manage projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Responsible for lab inventory, ordering materials when needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment to keep the lab running smoothly.
  • This role will require lots of customer engagement, face to face and via telephone. So we’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys a technical yet people focused role.

About you

  • You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Materials Science, Plastics/polymer science) or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Project management experience.
  • Full, clean driver's license is essential.
  • Used to dealing with customers providing technical information and dealing with queries.
