We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide expert support for the inspection, maintenance, refurbishment, and installation of pumping station assets. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of mechanical systems, while supporting both reactive maintenance and project delivery in line with client and framework standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver mechanical engineering works on pumping stations-covering pumps, gearboxes, sluice gates, and more.
Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, planned and reactive maintenance.
Produce method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with statutory standards, British Standards, and internal quality procedures.
Support installation, commissioning, and testing activities with detailed records.
Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver high-quality work.
Contribute to cost estimates, quotations, and project programming.
Monitor and report on performance against KPIs-ensuring works are delivered on time and within budget.
Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example on SHEQ matters.
Mentor and support apprentices and junior engineers within the team.
Skills & Experience:
Degree, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
Hands-on experience in pumping stations or within the water/wastewater, utilities, or MEICA sectors.
Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
Experience with commissioning, testing, and technical documentation.
Problem-solving mindset with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Confined Space Training
SSSTS or SMSTS
First Aid at Work
Lifting and Slinging / Appointed Person
