Senior Acoustic Consultant - Manchester - £45,000 to £60,000 + Benefits

A leading UK-based Acoustic and Environmental Consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join their established and growing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated acoustic professional to take on a leading role in project delivery, team support, and client development across the North West and beyond.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years' experience in acoustic consultancy.

  • Strong technical background in environmental and/or building acoustics.

  • Proficient with industry-standard modelling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, or INSUL.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Experience:

  • Chartered status or working toward it (e.g., MIOA).

  • Experience managing complex acoustic assessments and reporting.

  • Confidence in client-facing roles and project leadership.

  • Ability to mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal development.

  • Familiarity with planning policy, BS4142, BS8233, ProPG, or BB93.

The Role:You will deliver and manage a wide range of acoustic projects, from planning assessments and infrastructure schemes to building acoustics for education, healthcare, and commercial developments. The role will involve both technical delivery and support for junior team members, with the potential to step into a more strategic position over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing acoustic monitoring, modelling, and reporting.

  • Leading client meetings and managing relationships with developers, architects, and planners.

  • Reviewing technical work and ensuring high-quality project output.

  • Assisting with training and supervision of junior team members.

  • Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the Manchester office.
