Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects including residential and commercial buildings. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as proficiency in using both hand and power tools. The Brick Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, and other materials.
Responsibilities
- Construct walls, arches, and other structures using bricks, blocks, or stones according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and rebar installation as needed for various projects.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters, roofers, and welders to ensure project completion.
- Execute plastering and stucco work to enhance the aesthetic appeal of structures.
- Engage in restoration projects that require masonry skills to preserve historical buildings.
- Utilize heavy equipment safely on construction sites when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in construction techniques including hardscape installation and tile laying.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes to assess project costs effectively.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques including frame carpentry and metal stud framing is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality work consistently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members on site.
