School Caretaker - Multi-Site (Full-Time)
Salary: 26,000 per annum
Location: Across three primary sites in South Manchester

We are currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and experienced School Caretaker to support the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and security across three thriving primary school sites in South Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the smooth running of a diverse and inclusive educational environment that places community, wellbeing, and achievement at the heart of everything it does.

About the Schools:
The schools are part of a well-established multi-academy trust with a strong reputation for inclusivity and pupil-centred learning. Spanning across three sites, the settings cater for children from early years through to Year 6 and offer a nurturing environment enriched with cultural diversity, high-quality teaching, and strong community links.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the cleanliness, security, and general maintenance of all school premises and grounds
Conduct regular health and safety checks and risk assessments in line with statutory requirements
Carry out minor repairs, decorating, and basic plumbing or electrical work where appropriate
Monitor site safety, including locking/unlocking of premises and overseeing access for contractors
Support site logistics, including setting up for school events and managing deliveries
Report and follow up on major maintenance issues with external contractors or relevant services
Act as Fire Warden and support emergency drills and procedures across all sites

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar site maintenance or caretaker role, ideally within an educational setting
Strong working knowledge of health and safety procedures, COSHH, manual handling, and risk assessments
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Relevant qualifications in site management, facilities, or health and safety (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, Level 2/3 Facilities Management)
A flexible, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across all three sites as required
