Facilities Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Facilities Assistant to support a short-term project at a student accommodation site in Fallowfield, Manchester. This physically demanding temporary role involves the decanting of old student accommodation and managing reusable resources in accordance with site procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the decanting and clearing of old student accommodation units.
  • Sort, organise, and store reusable resources and equipment appropriately.
  • Follow instructions from site supervisors and team leaders to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and maintain site safety.
  • Comply with all relevant Health & Safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry out tasks that may involve manual handling, lifting, and moving items.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be able to carry heavy and bulky objects up & down stairs, utilising manual handling techniques where necessary,
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow clear instructions.
  • No driving licence required for this position.
