About the Commis Chef role:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you are accountable for provide an excellent and consistent level of service to your customers. The Commis Chef is responsible to prepare a consistent, high quality food product and ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service that supports the outlets operating concept and Hyatt International standards. Some of the key processes include but are not limited to:
To set up the mis-en-place stations for the various meal periods according to performance standards.
To prepare food items according to the standard recipes.
To minimise waste of all food items.
To collect food requisitions from the commissary Kitchen as directed.
To break down mise-en-place stations at the end of meal periods and store the food away properly.
To assist in maximising morale and productivity.
Experience you will have:
- Gained work experience in the same or similar role, preferably within a prestigious hotel environment
- A passion for food within a hospitality setting and will be motivated to change and grow
- Able to demonstrate a relentless focus on food quality
- Excellent levels of verbal and written communication in English
- You must have full availability to work a varierty of shifts including AM and PM shifts
