Join a pioneering team shaping the future of nuclear research and environmental safety. We're seeking a Nuclear Compliance Environment Lead to support a new state-of-the-art alpha radionuclide lab and ensure it operates in full compliance with environmental regulations.
You'll work closely with technical, academic, and compliance teams, helping manage everything from permit submissions to risk assessments and emergency planning-ensuring the safe, secure, and environmentally responsible running of radioactive facilities.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead environmental compliance for high-spec nuclear laboratories

Oversee environmental maintenance schedules, discharges, and hazardous material handling

Act as liaison with regulators (EA, ONR) for environmental matters

Support environmental permit variations, BAT submissions, and risk assessments

Coordinate safety, security, and waste operations in collaboration with technical teams

Participate in emergency planning, training, and incident response roles

Strong degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline

In-depth experience with radionuclide labs, radiological compliance, and nuclear waste management

Familiar with EA, ONR, IAEA, IRR, and ISO 14001/45001 standards

Experience dealing with environmental agencies and compliance inspections

Able to work fully on-site and participate in on-call emergency rota

Eligible to obtain/maintain BPSS or CTC clearance
