Development Chemist

Are you a skilled R&D Chemist that's looking to take a step up in your career? We're working with a leading manufacturer of commercial coatings who are looking for someone just like you to join their R&D team.

What You'll Be Doing

The roles primary focus will be on developing new and maintaining formulations, quality testing all raw materials as they come in and assisting production as needed. You will also be expected to help plan pilot plants and scale up operations to be handed over to the production facility and investigate customer complaints as they arise.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Educated to a BSc or higher in Chemistry or a related field
  • Previous experience working in a formulations R&D laboratory with surface coatings, preferably paints
  • Proven ability to problem solve in technical environments
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards in laboratory and industrial settings

Desirable

  • A full UK driver's license for travel to the production facility when needed
  • Previous colour matching experience
