Join a market-leading OEM in the packaging machinery space, specialising in tray sealing equipment and fully integrated packaging lines tailored for the meat, fish, and poultry sectors. We are a respected name within the industry, known for innovation, reliability, and technical excellence.

The Role:

We're seeking a Sales Manager to drive new business sales and manage direct relationships with end users across the UK. You’ll be representing high-quality, high-value machinery (average order value £250k–£300k), in what can often be a lengthy and consultative sales process.

This is a technical sales role (without requiring an engineering qualification), ideal for someone with proven experience selling capital equipment into food or packaging sectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities (NB focus – must be confident cold calling and self-starting).

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, with support from technical and applications teams.

  • Sell directly to end users in the meat, fish, and poultry packaging markets.

  • Accurately forecast sales and work toward a first-year target of £1.5 million.

  • Attend trade shows, customer visits, and site meetings across the UK.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience selling capital equipment (preferably into food manufacturing/packaging environments).

  • Strong understanding of long sales cycles and high-value solution selling.

  • Experience or insight into the meat, fish, and poultry sectors is highly advantageous.

  • Technically minded and commercially driven – able to quickly understand customer needs and present tailored solutions.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented – thrives in a new business environment.
