An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced capital or estates professional to join a respected educational institution and play a key role in shaping its future estate. This is a role offering genuine variety and influence - managing a broad range of capital and construction projects, from modernisation works and refurbishments to major new developments. You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative Estates and Capital team with clear direction, autonomy, and long-term opportunities for progression.

With a busy and ambitious capital programme underway, 2025 and beyond will see significant estate improvements across teaching, IT, and specialist learning spaces. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the student and staff experience, while delivering projects that demonstrate best value, sustainability, and design quality.

Reporting to the Head of Estates and Capital, you'll manage multiple capital projects through all stages - from feasibility and design to delivery and completion - ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will be a construction or engineering professional with a proven track record of delivering complex capital projects within an estates or public-sector environment. You'll have excellent project management skills, a strong understanding of RIBA and CDM regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve shared goals.

The Role
*Manage and deliver construction and estates-related capital projects across the College
*Lead projects from feasibility to completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to specification
*Ensure compliance with RIBA, CDM, and building control regulations
*Oversee the coordination of design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders
*Support the College's long-term capital and estates strategy
*Promote sustainable design and best practice across all projects
*Report on budgets, risks, and progress to senior management


The Person
*Degree-qualified in Construction, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
*Strong project management experience within estates, construction, or public-sector environments
*Knowledge of RIBA stages, CDM regulations, and building control
*Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
*Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, etc.) desirable
*Committed to sustainability, quality, and value for money
*Able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
