Senior Civil Engineer
Location:
Full time from our office in Trafford House, M32 0RS
Occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid
Working from home: Possible on occasional basis when required provided
agreed in advance. Possibility of agreeing 1 or 2 days from home after the first
3 months for a strong candidate.
Senior Civil Engineer Responsibilities
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
- Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
- Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
- Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
- Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
- Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
- Estimate hours required for design packages
- Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar
Senior Civil Engineer Experience Required Qualifications & Experience
- 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry
- Graduate, HND or significant experience from Technician level
- Good level IT
- Registered with professional body and working towards chartership
Senior Civil Engineer Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered engineer
- Experience with both clean and dirty water
- Awareness of construction methods and materials.
- Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
