Are you a seasoned and highly capable Freelance Site Agent seeking a significant and rewarding opportunity within the UK water infrastructure sector? Our client, a multi-billion pound tier-one civils contractor, is expanding their team for the framework under AMP8 and requires a proactive and detail-oriented Freelance Site Agent to drive the successful delivery of a variety of essential water projects.

This is a fantastic chance to embed yourself within a major framework, contributing to vital upgrades across both the clean water and waste water domains. You will be instrumental in managing site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across complex civil engineering schemes.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Taking ownership of site delivery, ensuring projects are executed safely, to the required quality standards, and within the agreed programme and budget.
  • Directly managing site teams, including supervisors, operatives, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Meticulous planning and coordination of all site activities, including setting out, material management, and plant allocation.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing and monitoring site-specific safety plans.
  • Proactive identification and resolution of technical issues and potential delays on site.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and photographic evidence.
  • Liaising effectively with the client, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Implementing and adhering to water industry best practices and standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with EUSR Water Hygiene regulations.
  • Acting as an Appointed Person (AP) for lifting operations, overseeing and ensuring the safety of all lifting activities on site (if qualified).
  • Contributing to the production and implementation of Temporary Works Coordination (TWC) procedures on site.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Extensive experience as a Site Agent within the civil engineering industry, ideally with a strong focus on the water sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of both waste water (e.g., treatment works upgrades, sewer rehabilitation) and clean water (e.g., pipeline installations, reservoir maintenance) projects.
  • A thorough understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety legislation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Relevant academic qualifications (e.g., HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent).
  • Valid SMSTS certificate and CSCS card.
  • EUSR Water Hygiene certification is essential.
  • Ideally, holding or willing to work towards Appointed Person (AP) for lifting qualification.
  • Familiarity with Temporary Works Coordination (TWC) principles and procedures.
