Design Manager Location: North West Manchester Salary: competitive ( DOE)I have an exciting position available for a Design Manager to join a leading Tier one main building contractor. The contractor specialises in large education and other public sector work schemes varying in value from £10m - £100m. They have multiple projects from the DfE frameworks around the north west region. They are looking for a Design Manager to join the team to work on delivering design information for new design and build projects. Ideally those with Education experience although they do have other projects in the pipeline too. They do offer flexible hybrid working once you have settled in with all your working team. You will need to be able to work and prioritise your own workloads.You will be expected to review the technical aspects of details put forward by architects and engineers and co-ordinate changes with the Design team (including Structural Engineers, architects and external subcontractors) ensuring best value. You will be involved in Design team meetings to co-ordinate the building process, be confident to head these meetings, ensuring client updated and well informed throughout the building process. You will register received drawings on the information system, approve drawings. You will also co-ordinate design information in accordance CDM Building Regulations. Knowledge, skills and experience required• Main Contracting experience • Various forms of construction technology• Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.• Management of multiple projects or Projects of a complex nature or high valueThis is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established Tier one leading contractor.
