To ensure One Manchester complies with Building Safety legislation. You will have responsibility overseeing in-scope buildings, ensuring policies, procedures and the relevant management systems are implemented and adhered to, to ensure regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for liaising and engaging with customers on any concerns they may have with the safety and integrity of their building.

Description
- Input in the development and implement a Resident Engagement Strategy by leading engagement and communication with residents about the safe management of their building, their safety responsibilities and any issues that may arise.
- Engagement with the Building Safety Regulator.
- Manage the day-to-day safety of all in-scope buildings within your portfolio under the Building Safety Bill 2021.
- To take responsibility for co-ordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet legislative requirements.
- To support the co-ordination of the building(s) compliance programme to include fire equipment, portable appliance testing, alarms, legionella and any other compliance works for buildings within your portfolio.
- The implementation and co-ordination of fire safety, fire evacuation and security arrangements for buildings within your portfolio to ensure a safe and compliance working environment.
- To monitor and challenge colleagues in the adequate management and implementation of Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring they are kept up to date and actions are closed out in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain Building Safety Cases for buildings in scope of Building Safety legislation and proactively manage any identified risks.
- Work with Development and Asset Management to introduce and maintain a Golden Thread of digital information for each in-scope building and to ensure the information supports the Building Safety Cases in a consistent format and kept up to date.
- Foster a good working relationship with the Building Safety Regulator and local Fire Authority to ensure that their expectations are clearly understood and Building Assurance Certificates are issued and maintained.
- Attend any contractor / consultant / procurement meetings with colleagues for works taking place at buildings within your portfolio to ensure building safety is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that all relevant aspects of Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations are adhered to in all circumstances relating to buildings within your portfolio, taking into full consideration recommendations in the revised Building Regulatory regime.
- Compile / contribute to internal policies, procedures and systems for the operation of functions within your buildings.
- Liaise with other stakeholders in respect of maintenance and asset management programmes as well as supervising all building and maintenance contractors through processes such as Permit to Work (PTW) schemes.
- To engage, support and advice all colleagues across the organisation who are responsible for managing projects or undertaking inspections and compliance checks to ensure they are carried out to the correct standards.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and industry best practice with regard to Building Safety.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and investigate and manage customer complaints.
Profile
- Relevant Fire Safety qualification accredited by the IFE or IFSM or equivalent (or working towards)
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (or working towards)
- Chartered Membership of CIH or CIOB or a degree in the construction or housing management sector (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a similar role for a residential provider
- Thorough understanding of Building Safety legislation's and the safety act
- Project Management experience delivering Building Safety upgrades
- Management of external contractors, consultants, customers and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills
