Role Purpose:
We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s largest training providers for a dedicated and experienced Residential Childcare – Skills Development Tutor/Assessor. In this rewarding role, you’ll support learners remotely, delivering engaging and tailored training to individuals working within Residential Childcare.
You’ll work flexibly across online platforms, delivering high-quality learning in both group and one-to-one settings. Your expertise will help learners build essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours to thrive in their roles and progress in their careers.
Duties:

  • Deliver face-to-face and blended digital curriculum to support learner development.
  • Plan and adapt content to suit individual learner needs and ensure inclusivity.
  • Assess learners’ work, provide structured feedback, and set development objectives.
  • Track learner progress and achievement using digital systems.
  • Maintain regular communication with learners and employers to support outcomes.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities, including observations and internal reviews.
  • Support learner retention, achievement, and positive progression outcomes.
  • Participate in open evenings, taster days, and employer engagement activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement processes.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A1, D32/33 or TAQA Assessor qualification.
  • Strong understanding of L4 Children, Young People and Families Apprenticeship Standard and EPA.
  • 1–2 years' experience in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and digital learning systems effectively.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and motivational skills.
  • Hold or be working towards a teaching qualification (e.g. Diploma in Education and Training).


Due to the nature of this role, you will need to have access to your own vehicle, and you will undertake an enhanced DBS if successful in the role.
