Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for experienced Cleaners to work for our client Greater Manchester Police at various locations within the Manchester area.
These roles will be working a temporary contract Monday to Friday between 7am and 3pm and 8am and 4pm full time hours.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVING TO UNDERGO POLICE VETTING YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out general cleaning duties to the agreed standards and work schedules provided including
- to sweep, wet mop and floor polish designated areas
- to vacuum, dust, polish furniture, fixtures and fittings (this may include light fittings, blinds etc.)
- to clean outside areas, dog kennels, cell areas as may be required
- to strip and apply floor polish
- to wash walls as required
- to replenish towels, soap and toilet rolls as and when required
- to high dust (with high dusting tool) all areas out of normal reach
- to daily clean all sanitary appliances, fittings and areas
- to empty waste bins into waste bags and carry these to collection points and to wash and re-line bins as and when required.
- To ensure all safety precautions are taken.
- To ensure the safe use of all equipment and safety precaution times at all times.
- To maintain all equipment to be of a clean condition.
- To report all faults to the supervisor
- To participate in all training relevant and as required.
- To provide cover for colleagues within the division and other divisions * as may be occasionally required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Worked as a cleaner previously in a large-scale organisation.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and materials.(Training will be provided in the use of more sophisticated equipment and Health and Safety matters.)
- Has achieved a good attendance record.
- Possess good communication skills including understanding/accepting instruction
- Fit to carry out cleaning duties including bending, walking, pushing, lifting and handling equipment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes (only for those designated posts where mobility will be required
