This is the ideal opportunity to join my client, a trusted, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy renowned for lending their expertise to an array of residential and commercial projects across the land development and engineering fields. They are searching for an enthusiastic, experienced Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller with extensive knowledge of, and experience with, flood risk, drainage, and/or Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). You should be willing to take on a diverse array of challenging projects whilst working with an already-established team of design experts near the bustling, diverse city of Manchester.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • Leading the preparation, amendment, and submission of technical documents, including tenders, Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Drainage Assessment Reports, calculations, and models
  • Identifying business development opportunities, and working to win new projects
  • Liaising with and managing client and stakeholder relations, across the public and private sectors
  • Managing people and projects at all stages of the process, from initial inception through to successful delivery, adhering to budgetary, resourcing, and timeframe requirements
  • Adhering to industry standards, procedures, and guidelines at all times, including strict health and safety regulations
  • Overseeing colleagues' Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar, relevant field
  • Possess Chartership Status with a recognised, relevant professional body/institute (e.g., CIWEM)
  • Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy or local authority setting
  • Outstanding working knowledge of a range of relevant software packages, such as Flood Modeller, AutoCAD, WinDES, WINFAP, HEC-RAS, FEH, etc.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of liaising closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Hydrologist/Flood Modeller include:

  • A Master's Degree (or higher qualification) in a relevant field
  • Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
