Our client, who operates within the following sectors, Renewables, Marine, Oil and Gas, Energy, Industrial and Tunnelling is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis based at their site in Trafford Park, Manchester.
The Electrical Design Engineer will have a strong background in electrical design engineering and be capable of designing all aspects control system panels.
they will have excellent skills with build, installation and commissioning of Control Systems panels.
This person must be an excellent people-manager who can demonstrate effective supervision in a calm and professional manner. You must have a strong teamwork mentality and be willing to provide support and guidance to the team to help them improve their performance.
The engineer should be committed to ensuring that any projects are technically and administratively supported, which would involve having a pro-active approach to answering a reasonable level of emails/telephone calls inside and outside of working hours.
The role also requires that the individual is capable of gaining security clearance to work within secure marine applications (SC Clearance).
The applicant would need a full driving license and would also need to be educated to a degree level.
The supervisor should be capable of handling all aspects of the workshop in a safe and timely manner and ensuring that the quality standards are maintained for all projects.
The role also includes supervising the responsibility of all staff in the workshop.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Familiar with AutoCAD and ideally EPLAN.
- Development of internal and external General Arrangement drawings.
- Development of schematics.
- Familiarity with the hardware aspects of PLC Systems.
- Power Distribution 24VDC and 240VAC.
- 4-20mA Loop design for integration with PLC modules and field devices.
- Provide technical support for installation and panel matters within the company.
- Provide support and handover to the workshop team.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects defined in the project review meetings.
- Support in the process of delivery of timesheets/expenses to administration.
- Ensure holidays are booked through the correct procedure.
- Ensure timely delivery of DPRs for all sites and evaluate for impact to the project.
- Delivery FAT systems.
- Ensuring all project deliverables are met and any issues reported to the Managing Director in a timely manner.
- Be available during all working hours via telephone or email to support the above.
- Provide weekly reporting on progress and any issues with projects.
- Ensure high standards are maintained within the office/site and engineering staff.
- Be aware of Health and Safety implications for site and the office.
- Supportive with the Siemens Partner Program.
- There is also a requirement for the engineer to be trained to work in the offshore industry and be able to support offshore work should there be an urgent requirement.
