Our client, a fast-growing specialist in sustainable electrical infrastructure, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding UK team.

The role focuses on producing high-quality HV and LV designs for renewable energy and EV charging projects up to 11kV, working closely with network operators, engineering teams, and key project stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative, future-focused electrical solutions while developing your career in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed and compliant electrical designs, specifications, and associated documentation.
  • Develop schematics, models, and drawings using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Amtech, EOM).
  • Liaise with project teams, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Review, refine, and validate designs to optimise performance and functionality.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation to support installation, commissioning, and operational activities.
  • Provide design input during project planning, delivery, and review stages.

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven track record in electrical design within the renewable energy, power distribution, or T&D sectors.
  • Understanding of HV/LV systems and relevant technical standards.
  • Experience working with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) is advantageous.
  • Skilled in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, or EOM.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
