We’re supporting a leading engineering consultancy on an exciting FEED stage Hydrogen project, and they’re looking for a client-facing Principal or Lead C&I Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary team.

This is a high-impact role delivering instrumentation and control expertise on cutting-edge hydrogen technology. You’ll take the lead on technical delivery and be responsible for ensuring robust compliance with industry standards, while working closely with engineering, procurement, and construction stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical delivery for the instrumentation discipline across project stages.

  • Prepare, check, and approve engineering documentation, equipment specifications, and scopes of work.

  • Manage and allocate workloads, ensuring timely delivery aligned with schedule and budget.

  • Produce and review technical bid assessments and supplier quotations.

  • Develop and oversee safety and cyber security cases.

  • Provide support to verification and validation activities for control systems and instrumentation.

  • Ensure all designs meet UK legislation, industry codes, and client standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering (apprenticeship routes will be considered).

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards it.

  • Strong FEED experience in the process or energy sectors, ideally with hydrogen exposure.

  • In-depth knowledge of UK legislation, ATEX/IECEx requirements, and instrument installation in hazardous environments.

  • Strong client-facing, leadership, and communication skills.
