Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Manchester - Hybrid (Once in 2 weeks)
Contract Type: 6 months
A major tech organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong SRE expertise to lead a critical migration of services between Kubernetes environments. You'll combine software engineering skills, a deep understanding of cloud-native operations, and a passion for automation to ensure a smooth, reliable transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refactor applications for Kubernetes using containerization best practices.
- Own service reliability and performance during migrations, driving zero-downtime and phased rollout strategies.
- Build automation to streamline migration, testing, validation, and operations (Infrastructure-as-Code).
- Architect scalable, observable systems tailored for Kubernetes.
- Enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, and lead incident responses during migrations.
- Solve complex technical challenges and optimize migration workflows.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate closely across technical and product teams.
Skills & Experience
- Strong software engineering and SRE background.
- Expertise in Java and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Proven success leading large-scale service migrations.
- Solid experience in observability, incident management, and infrastructure automation.
