The Role

Genedrive is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Senior Electronics / System Design Engineer to join their Engineering Team to lead development activities of electronics driving our unique platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a lead electronics engineer for IVD electronics products
  • Research, design, verify, and transfer all aspects of the Genedrive System electronics
  • Produce test plans for FCC, EMC, CE, UKCA, CB Scheme, FDA
  • Conduct hardware verification, validation, and root cause analysis
  • Support software and assay teams with hardware integration
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure high-quality product development
  • Drive research and development for hardware, consumable design, and ancillary equipment/software
  • Manage full product lifecycle maintenance and improvement
  • Support manufacturing and technical service functions
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and operating procedures

The Ideal Candidate

You’re a self-driven, experienced engineer who thrives in an innovative environment. You have a strong background in product design and development, particularly in medical or highly regulated industries. About you:

  • 5+ years' experience in end-to-end product design, from concept to manufacturing and market release
  • Experience in the design of mixed-signal PCBs  and product wiring
  • Proficient in design verification
  • Working experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical, aerospace, automotive, etc.) or where a strict design process had to be followed
  • Strong knowledge of electronic design for compliance & regulatory approvals
  • Proficiency in Altium or similar schematic capture tools
  • Ability to lead projects and manage multiple workstreams
  • Strong communication & problem-solving skills
  • Background in a small company environment

Strongly Advantageous:

  • Experience in optoelectronics, PID temperature control, and reliability testing
  • Expertise in IVD/medical device compliance (EU & USA)
  • Experience in regulated product development (ISO 13485, IVDR, 60601, EMC standards, FDA approvals)
