Sonic Summary

info
  • We are seeking an organized individual to manage the technical paperwork for a food manufacturing business, ensuring compliance and accuracy in specifications and certifications.
  • The role involves writing and checking product specifications, signing off artwork, and keeping up with food legislation and customer requirements.
  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of food legislation and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • This part-time position requires 22 hours of work per week, ideally spread across five days, with flexibility for the right candidate.
  • The salary offered for this role is competitive, and applicants should have at least two years of relevant experience in a similar position.

You know those people who actually enjoy the “boring but important” details? The ones who get a buzz out of making sure specs are watertight, labels are compliant, and customers don’t send snotty emails about allergens being in the wrong font size? That’s who we need.

This role is about owning the technical paperwork backbone of a food manufacturing business. Specs, artwork sign-off, customer databases, alerts, certifications – all that good stuff that keeps the wheels turning and the auditors off our backs.

You won’t be chained to spreadsheets all day though. You’ll be working with Technical, NPD, Quality, and Production – making sure that from concept to launch, everything’s not just tasty, but legal.

A few things you’ll be doing:

  • Writing and checking product specifications so customers and regulators don’t have a meltdown.

  • Signing off artwork (because apparently Comic Sans is still not acceptable for allergens).

  • Keeping up to date with legislation and customer requirements – because those rules don’t write themselves.

  • Helping maintain BRC, organic, and kosher certifications – the glamorous side of food manufacturing.

  • Supporting QA, Production, and NPD teams so they can focus on their stuff, not chasing missing info.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who actually reads labels in supermarkets and secretly judges them.

  • A solid understanding of food legislation, specs, and customer codes of practice.

  • A communicator who can talk Technical to auditors and plain English to everyone else.

  • Organised. Like, colour-coded-spreadsheets organised.

The hours? 22 a week. Ideally across 5 days (roughly 4 hours a day), but we’ll flex for the right person.

If you’re the kind of person who gets satisfaction from knowing the paperwork is 100% right (and maybe likes a quiet “gotcha” when you spot a misprint), then this could be your gig.

Apply now and let’s keep the customers, auditors, and regulators happy together.
