Our client, a prominent organisation within the rail sector, is currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to join their team based in Manchester. This is a long-term contract opportunity, inside IR35, requiring expertise in environmental management and a robust understanding of HSQE principles for a substantial rail infrastructure project.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide and improve environmental performance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client expectations
  • Implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure adherence to environmental practices
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and audits
  • Deliver training and awareness programmes on environmental issues
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in environmental management within rail or construction projects
  • Strong understanding of HSQE principles
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining environmental practices
  • Relevant environmental qualifications (e.g., ISO14001 Auditor)
  • PTS/Sentinel qualification is desirable
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
