Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: Remote (UK-wide)
Salary: 50,000 - 65,000 + benefits

A market-leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its UK team on a fully remote basis. This senior role suits an experienced air quality specialist with strong EIA credentials who can lead major schemes, shape technical delivery, and support growth activity across a broad portfolio of nationally significant projects.

The role
You will take ownership of EIA air quality workstreams, steer dispersion modelling and compliance projects, and act as a key point of contact for clients and planning bodies. You will provide technical leadership to distributed teams, uphold quality standards, and contribute to proposals and business development.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of air quality assessments and EIA chapters

  • Manage dispersion modelling (ADMS/AERMOD) and impact assessments

  • QA / peer-review technical outputs

  • Contribute to bids and proposals

  • Mentor and develop junior consultants in remote teams

  • Represent the business with clients, developers & regulators

About you

  • 6+ years in air quality consultancy or regulation

  • Track record producing EIA air quality chapters for planning

  • Competent with ADMS, AERMOD & IAQM/EPUK guidance

  • Degree in environmental science/chemistry/geography or similar

  • Chartered (CEnv/IAQM) or working towards (advantageous)

  • Strong communicator, organiser and team leader

  • Full UK driving licence
