The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our team based in Manchester. This is a key role in ensuring sound financial management and providing strategic insight to support decision-making across the organisation.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, developing reporting systems, and contributing to financial strategy and planning.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight and variance analysis to senior management.
Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory requirements.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies and models.
Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Provide financial oversight on projects, partnerships, and initiatives across the organisation.
Mentor and support junior finance team members.

Key Requirements

Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the sporting sector.
Proven track record in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations in the UK.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
Experience in managing audits and liaising with external advisors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
