The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our team based in Manchester. This is a key role in ensuring sound financial management and providing strategic insight to support decision-making across the organisation.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, developing reporting systems, and contributing to financial strategy and planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight and variance analysis to senior management.

  • Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audit processes.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies and models.

  • Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Provide financial oversight on projects, partnerships, and initiatives across the organisation.

  • Mentor and support junior finance team members.

Key Requirements
  • Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the sporting sector.

  • Proven track record in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations in the UK.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.

  • Experience in managing audits and liaising with external advisors.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
