Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations managing a team of two Accounts Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a varied leadership role in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Description
Key responsibilities of a Finance Manager will include:
- Monthly general ledger transactions, ensuring correct coding to budget accounts
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce financial and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
- Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
- Monitor and report on cash flow and cash availability
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Manage 2x Purchase Ledger clerks as direct reports
- Mentor team members to support succession planning
- Continuously review accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Profile
A successful Finance Manager will have:
Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting, cash flow and a background in transactional processes
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
A proactive, solution-focused mindset
Experience with accounting software ideally Xero
- CIS submissions and transfers will be beneficial
