Finance Manager (Project Accounting) | £60,000-£67,000 + bonus | Listed Media business | Manchester (2 days in the office) | Permanent role
A Finance Manager (Project Accounting) is required to join a leading Media business based in Manchester (hybrid working, 2 days in the office). This is a critical hire in what is a newly created role following on from a period of finance transformation within the business.
Reporting to the Head of RTR, you will manage a team of 4 and take ownership for the project accounting across their programmes. This role involves extensive WIP management and project costing as well as driving process change and automation across the project accounting function.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of 4 Accountants/Assistant Accountants
- Management of the project accounting for the business, ensuring all project costs are allocated correctly
- WIP management across all projects
- Driving automation and efficiency to ensure accurate and timely production of financial statements
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business to identify errors and manage these in a timely manner
- Leading the month end and year end across project accounting
- Supporting with the improvement of existing ERP system and working with the project team to drive improvements
What they are looking for:
- Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience
- Experience working in a project accounting role previously where you have allocated costs/ dealt with WIP
- Experience managing a team (ideally 4+)
- Strong financial accounting background including experience leading year-end and month-end
- Knowledge of a large ERP system, Oracle would be preferable
- Proactive with the ability to drive and lead change & automations across the business
