About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a client portfolio including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and directors

  • Review and oversee preparation of corporation tax, self-assessment, and VAT returns

  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies, remuneration packages, CGT, and IHT

  • Act as the lead point of contact for client queries and HMRC correspondence

  • Lead, mentor and review work of junior team members, helping support their development

  • Identify cross-selling and business development opportunities across the firm

  • Ensure compliance deadlines are met and processes are followed to the highest standards

Ideal Candidate

  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or near-qualified with strong relevant experience)

  • Minimum 4-5 years in UK practice, with proven experience in both personal and corporate tax

  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and HMRC

  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple client needs with minimal supervision

  • Proficient in accounting/tax software such as CCH, IRIS, Xero, or similar
