Managing a busy caseload of around 150 pre-litigation housing disrepair matters, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in progressing claims efficiently while delivering high standards of client care. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong case handling experience and working knowledge of the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol, looking to thrive in a supportive, performance-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle a caseload of approximately 150 pre-litigation housing disrepair claims from instruction to settlement.
  • Comply with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol and internal case management standards.
  • Assess liability, quantify damages (including review of RICS and medical reports), and collate evidence including special damages and medical evidence.
  • Draft and issue court documentation in accordance with Part 7 CPR.
  • Monitor and comply with all key dates including court directions, hearings, and limitation periods.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, ensuring proactive updates in line with service level agreements.
  • Use Proclaim case management system efficiently and accurately, maintaining full case records and task tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and escalate complex matters to team leaders where required.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, strong time management, and decision-making ability.
  • Achieve monthly financial and administrative performance targets.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience managing a caseload of housing disrepair claims (pre-litigation essential; litigation experience desirable).
  • Knowledge of housing disrepair protocol, civil procedure rules (Part 7), and RICS reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • IT literate and confident using systems such as MS Office and Proclaim.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
