Job Title: Head of Electronics EngineeringLocation: Hybrid (Manchester - 2-3 days on site)Salary: Up to £75,000 + benefits (depending on experience)

We’re partnering with a growing business seeking a Head of Engineering to lead their multi-disciplinary engineering function. With a strong foundation in electronics design and a passion for building high-performing teams, you'll drive both internal product development and client-facing project delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role—ideal for someone who still enjoys technical engagement but is equally driven by mentoring engineers, setting strategy, and guiding projects from concept to completion.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading and developing a growing team of engineers across electronics, embedded software, and systems design

• Overseeing the delivery of both internal and client projects—from concept through to production

• Driving technical excellence and process improvement across hardware and firmware development

• Acting as the technical authority for complex designs in areas such as analogue, digital, RF, and power systems

• Supporting business development efforts with technical input and strategic oversight

• Representing engineering in senior leadership discussions, contributing to company direction and growth

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and projects, ideally within a product-focused environment

• Strong background in electronics design, with hands-on experience in areas like PCB development, embedded systems, or RF/power electronics

• Deep understanding of engineering processes, quality standards, and project management principles

• Comfortable working in a hybrid consultancy/product development business model

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and influence stakeholders at all levels

• A relevant engineering degree (or higher); experience in regulated sectors is a strong advantage
