Head of Engineering - Manchester - £110,000 + bonusThe Company:Lorien Global are partnering with a leading gaming company dedicated to providing bleeding-edge technology solutions in the industry. With a focus on innovation and excellence, we are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead a team in Manchester City Centre.About the Role:As the Head of Engineering, you will lead a critical workstream within the technology landscape, driving engineering best practices and fostering a DevOps culture. You'll play a key role in building, releasing, and supporting software solutions, while optimising engineering teams and collaborating with various functions within the organisation.This position will give you an excellent opportunity to implement the latest technology as my client move from a monolith to microservice architecture, we need a forward thinker who is motivated by change to help navigate this exciting challenge.Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead key engineering best practices within the workstream
  • Promote and cultivate a DevOps culture to enhance collaboration and efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define a strategic plan to tackle the technical debt
  • Manage and optimise engineering teams within the workstream structure
  • Ensure platform stability is maintained throughout
  • Encourage learning activities and provide support for internal and external training initiatives
  • Understand key reporting for tracking, process improvements, and progress

Skill Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in leading engineering teams within a scaled digital organisation
  • Strong understanding of engineering best practices with C# .NET platforms
  • Experience implementing a DevOps culture including CI/CD best practise
  • Proficiency in defining and implementing software development processes and methodologies
  • Excellent ability to ensure QA across the platform
  • Knowledge of developing platforms hosted in hybrid cloud environments (AWS/VMware)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation
