As Head of Estates and Capital, you will lead and inspire the Estates and Capital team, overseeing everything from facilities management and health & safety to capital project delivery and long-term estate strategy. You will have autonomy, visibility, and the support of a leadership team that values innovation and accountability.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, contractors, and partners to ensure the estate continues to meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and value for money, while driving improvement, sustainability, and modernisation.
The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified estates or facilities professional with strong leadership experience, a proven track record of delivering complex capital projects and managing large budgets, excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance frameworks, and the strategic vision and hands-on approach to lead and develop a high-performing Estates and Capital team.

The Role
*Lead, manage, and develop the Estates and Capital team
*Oversee capital projects from planning through delivery
*Ensure compliance across Health & Safety, maintenance, and facilities
*Manage budgets, contracts, and leases across a large estate portfolio
*Deliver sustainability and energy efficiency improvements
*Advise the leadership team on all estates, property, and capital matters
*Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and performance
The Person
*Degree-qualified in estates, construction, or property management
*Strong leadership experience within estates or facilities management
*Proven track record of managing capital projects and large budgets
*Excellent understanding of Health & Safety and compliance frameworks
*Strategic mindset with hands-on ability to deliver and motivate teams
*NEBOSH or equivalent qualification preferred
*Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, BIFM, or similar) desirable
*Experience within the public sector is advantageous
