A well-established law firm in the greater Manchester area is seeking an experienced Head of Department for their Housing Disrepair team which comprises of around 15 experienced Fee Earners.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HOD or skilled litigator to take on a leadership role within a growing department.

The Role

  • To lead and oversee a team of housing disrepair fee earners ranging from junior Paralegals to Team Leaders.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, handling complex cases where required.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory procedures and maintaining the highest professional standards.
  • Develop and implement best practices and streamlined processes within the Housing Disrepair department.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and implement internal processes.
  • Oversee housing disrepair claims both pre and post issue

Skills

  • At least 4 years HDR case handling experience
  • A natural leader
  • An ability to deliver excellent legal advice while maintaining client care standards
  • Proven or a desire to develop leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor, develop and support staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing disrepair law.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
